Annual Ft. Sumter Ball
The annual ball is held in the spring each year to try and recreate the festivities in South Carolina near the time of the “Firing on Ft. Sumter” in 1861. One hundred guests are seated for excellent dining and fellowship. People come from multiple states to be a part of this spectacular event. Period clothing is worn by those who have it, but one’s Sunday best will do. Live musicians play period music and all enjoy a historical treat while we honor our ancestors. Many thanks go out to all involved, but a special thanks goes out to Dr. and Mrs. Chris Rucker, whose vision and hard work make the dance possible each year.
All set up before the guests arrive.
The desert table is beautiful.
The dining and fellowship is second to none.
These are the Ruckers who do so much to make the night memorable for all, including teaching and leading the period dances for everyone to enjoy.
Tickets usually go on sale in January each year and move quickly. You may reserve tickets at a web site just for the dance.
